2021 SEASON REGISTRATION –The USASB of GA registration period runs September 1 through August 31 each year. Beginning in 2021 all states will be on the September 1 registration cycle. Also, remember to provide your Team ID# when you have questions/issues about registering your team.

NEW WITH SAFE SPORT – During the fall 2020 and spring/summer 2021 season all coaches and players 18 years of age or older must complete the “Safe Sport” certification to be approved on a J.O. roster. This is a law that has been legislated for all youth sports National Governing Bodies. Additionally, all USASB of GA teams must have ALL their coaches complete the ACE certification.

NEW PROGRAM – Yesterday we completed our final USA Softball High Potential Program at Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove. This was the third HPP event conducted in Georgia, and like the previous two events yesterday’s participants received testing evaluations in every phase of the game of softball. All of the participants in the Georgia events will then be ranked in their respective age group of players throughout the region (Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia).

12U ALL AMERICAN TEAM ANNOUNCED – The 2021 USASB of GA 12U All American Team that will compete in August at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City has been selected. This is the 15-player roster; Leah Byrd, Wetherly Ridley, Aubrey Moore, Lyla Morici, Dawson Blue, Kylee Lawrence, Cecelia Springfield, Emily Patterson, Avary Stockwell, Audrey Cathey, Halle Bailey, Anebela Abdullah, Garriella Gopie, Laci Martinez, and Kaylor West. Leading the team will coaches, Jessica Sweat, Amanda Paz, McKenzie Woody, and Shawn Schumacher.

2021 USASB JO CUP NEWS – USASB of GA and the Columbus Sports Council have been awarded the prestigious USA Softball JO Cup for 2021. The event will be held in Columbus June 19–25 at the South Commons Complex. The event features the top 14U, 16U, and 18U teams from across the country. South Commons will also be the site for the 2021 USASB Southern National Championships July 21-25 for age groups 12U & 14U, and Valdosta will host the 16U & 18U Southern National Championships. Please support these local events by entering your team and play close to home in a USA Softball National Championship.

USA NATIONAL TEAM – Every Thursday up to the Olympic Games, the National Team players will present a “Meet the Team” post featuring a different team member each week. The link to the program is; : https://www.mlb.com/usa-softball/meet-the-team

USASB OF GA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BERTHS – If your team has earned, or wishes to earn, a berth to one of the USA Softball National Championship Tournaments you must have “approved” team status on com and do the following: upgrade your roster to “Championship Roster”, go to the PRINTABLE FORMS drop down tab and #1 print your “Official Team Entry Form”, #2 print your “Insurance Certificate” #3 print “Team Roster’ with parents’ signature then send them to me. I will sign off on them and send them to the respective age group National Tournament Director. But, remember I must sign them before they can be submitted and approved for participation.

SHOWCASE CAPITAL – The state of Georgia become the “Showcase Capital” of the county during the summer with the following showcases in our state: May 28-30 Softball Factory (Columbus), June 9-10 and June 10-13 Champions (Woodstock), June24-27 Softball Factory (Lovejoy), June 26-27 Top Flight Atlanta (Calhoun), June 26-27 Champions (Powder Springs), July 7-11 Legacy (Cherokee-Cobb-Bartow), July 16-18 Softball Factory (Savannah), July 22-25 Softball Factory (Valdosta).
